Mahatma Gandhi, always a busy man, spared a few minutes each day for nearly two years to write down “A Thought for the Day” initially to console a bereaved Ashramite, the compiler of this volume. This edition of his “thoughts” is being published for the fifth time in its entirity in this volume. Each page comprises one “Thought” in a facsimile reproduction of Ghandhiji own handwriting, its transliteration in Hindi type and its traslation in English.
