Description
HR4988 is an easy-to-use micro-stepping motor driver with integrated decoder. It is designed to enable bipolar stepping motors to work in full, half, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 stepping modes. The step mode is selected by the logic input MSx. The output drive capacity reaches 38V and ±2A. HR4988 contains a fixed decay time current regulator that works in slow decay or mixed decay mode.
Features:
- Low on-resistance RDS(ON)
- Automatic detection and selection of current decay mode
- Support slow decay and mixed decay modes
- Synchronous rectification function to reduce power consumption
- Internal undervoltage lockout
- Overcurrent protection
- Compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic levels
- Thermal shutdown circuit
- Short circuit protection to ground
- Load short circuit protection
- Support up to 16 segments
Instructions for use:
1. The pin headers are installed on the same side as the chip, so the definition of the motherboard header pin sequence is required;
2. MS3 pin header definition, replace with VR, need to set VR reference voltage on the bottom board
3. SLEEP, RESET, 10k pull-up resistors on the board
4. The upper limit current resistance of the small plate is 0.27 ohms, and the current calculation formula is I=VR/(8*0.27)
5. The heat sink can be attached to the exposed copper on the front
6. VBB voltage: 8~38V.
7. VDD voltage: 3~5.5V.
8. Iout output maximum current: 2A
9.Maximum power consumption of the module: 8mA
10. Logic input pin level: 0~5V
11. VR pin level: 0.5~4V
