Description
Bharat is derived from the name of the Vedic community Bharatas, who are mentioned in the Rigveda as one of the original community of the Āryāvarta and notably participating in the Battle of the Ten Kings. The designation Bharat appears in the official Sanskrit name of the country, Bhāratagaṇarājya.
