The 7404 is a low-voltage Si-gate CMOS device that is pin and function compatible with 74HC/HCT04. The 7404 provides six inverting buffers. The 74HC/HCT04 are high-speed Si-gate CMOS devices and are pin compatible with low power Schottky TTL (LSTTL). They are specified in compliance with JEDEC standard no. 7A. The 74HC/HCT04 provide six inverting buffers.
