For temporary protection, the 1N5817 is a 1.0A Schottky Barrier Rectifier with guard ring die architecture. For use in polarity protection, free-wheeling, high-frequency inverters, and low-voltage applications. This is a premium Schottky barrier rectifier that regulates voltage and is meant to be used with AC power. It is a quick, effective, and secure way to use DC power at low voltages. In the DC power supply circuit, the Schottky barrier rectifier can be utilized to convert the input AC current into DC current. In circuits involving DC power supplies, the Schottky barrier rectifier can also be employed as a boost converter.
